La Lozère en photos, a photo album by Benoît Colomb
FR - La Lozère en photos brings together the 200 most beautiful shots of Lozère taken by photographer Benoît Colomb.
The author of numerous photographic books on Lozère, including Lozère Sauvage, La Margeride, Les arbres and, more recently, L'Aubrac, au fil des saisons, is back with a new photo album.
“A nature photographer in search of evocative atmospheres in the heart of Lozère since 2015, Benoît Colomb celebrates with Lozère sauvage, his brand new opus, the 10th anniversary of his business, edited as a collection of exceptional images."
Having a glimpse
Fruit of a 10 years' work, this art book marks the culmination of hundreds of photographic peregrinations in Lozère from 2015 to the present day.
224 pages, 200 images (more than 70% of them previously unpublished and never shown in Benoît Colomb's previous books).
Photos of landscapes, nature and wildlife, but also of human traces that shape our landscapes: an isolated buron on the vast Aubrac plateaux, a cazelle on the Grands Causses, or a clède nestled in the chestnut trees of the Cévennes.
There's a corner of the world called Lozère, formerly province of Gévaudan, an unspoilt place that offers those who live in it or pass through it many peculiarities. One of France's highest, least populated departments, a veritable water tower, with 437 rivers and 1,000 springs, Lozère is also one of the few departments to have all four geological rock types: basalt, granite, limestone and schist. The varied landscapes create a multi-faceted territory where those who love to observe can't help but be amazed. A true haven of exception, in harmony with its flora and fauna, offering us a rich universe, where we can appreciate the biodiversity that surrounds us... Lozère and its landscapes offer an infinite palette of colors. And that's what this book is all about. From the immaculate whiteness of the snow to the bright red of autumn foliage, passing through deep blacks, let yourself be guided through the pages and discover or rediscover the emblematic corners of Lozère or the places that seduced the photographer when the often ephemeral natural elements brought them to life. You'll also discover snapshots of encounters with the wildlife that lives in the heart of these lands. Emotionally powerful moments.
