Sophrology's strength lies in knowing how to mobilise the resources already present within ourselves.

‘It's essential to know yourself well if you are to achieve your goal of empowerment and fulfilment, and regain physical, mental and emotional balance,’ says Mary Caulet.

'In my practice, I teach my patients, adults and children alike, how to manage stress and anxiety more effectively, develop self-confidence and self-esteem, learn to release physical, mental and emotional tension, and improve sleep, but that's not all. Sophrology also has a wide range of professional and sporting applications. Everyone finds the answer they're looking for'.

Mary Caulet helps those who come to her with all the difficulties they may encounter in their daily lives, whether it's exams, a particular event, childbirth, etc.

'Sophrology is above all a participative practice. The more you get involved, the better the results. I guide you so that you are the author and interpreter of your recovery.

Whether it's chronic pain, fear, OCD or eating disorders, not to mention my area of expertise in managing tinnitus, hyperacusis and vertigo, sophrology is there to help and support you. It's an asset that you need to consider on a daily basis.

One detail not to be overlooked: the atmosphere in the practice is conducive to relaxation. A gentle, positive environment, where light therapy and pastel colours are also there to encourage you to let go...' emphasises Mary.

About EFT

EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), in which the practitioner is trained, is also a formidable partner. Founded in the 1980s by the American clinical psychologist Roger Callahan on the basis of traditional Chinese medicine, EFT, which is part of brief therapies and energy psychology, aims to relieve pain using words, among other things.

'I practise this speciality in my surgery, scrupulously following a protocol over 7 sessions. This enables me to provide help with a mind-body approach to pain management, in addition to consultations with an ENT specialist and/or other therapeutic treatments such as physiotherapy, osteopathy, etc.

During an EFT session, a method that many people are familiar with without even knowing it, the emotional charge is released by tapping on specific meridian points while focusing on the situation that is generating the negative emotions and verbalising the problem. The emotions become dissociated from the stress and eventually diminish or even disappear. In all cases, they become much easier to manage. The relief is obvious and, above all, welcome!'
