FR - Opened in November 2025 by Elisabeth Lacroix, with the help of her husband and many friends, Point Virgule delicatessen and tea room is a place to remember for gourmets and food lovers.
Point Virgule, a break that creates a bond
Located at the entrance to Cabrières, Point Virgule aims to be a delicious rendezvous for foodies and a winning bet for this 100% local products conversion, particularly from Occitania.
It's is a place where you can find 'flavours from local producers, of course, but also flavours discovered during our travels, holidays in Lozère, trips to Alsace or the Drôme, where part of our family origins lie, etc.
Nothing is set in stone when it comes to choosing products, as long as they mean something to me and tell a story of an encounter, a profession, a talent, a flavour...' Elisabeth explains.
Why did you decide to switch to fine foods?
Well, I've always loved meeting new people, whether in my private life, with friends or in my professional life. Sharing is really part of what drives me every day.
I had long dreamed of creating a friendly place where people could take their time, pause without rushing (perhaps because of my Swiss origins...) to enjoy a pleasant moment and share it over gourmet treats.
I know that many people like me enjoy discovering new flavours to delight the taste buds with these little pleasures in life; it's so exciting. I didn't know where or when, but my dream gradually became a project over the years and I was convinced that it would come true naturally when the time was right. When I stumbled upon the location where Point Virgule is now, I fell in love with the setting, which is so green, natural, simple and refined at the same time, that I felt my heart burn: it was my project that suddenly came to life when I discovered this place, and it was obvious. And... it was the starting point of the adventure!
I immediately left my job to devote myself fully to the birth of Point Virgule, surrounded by the invaluable support of my husband and many friends who were keen to contribute to the creation of my vision!
The idea is to take a few moments to pause in these fast-paced days and treat yourself to a moment of exchange, sharing, and indulgence, a little break that does you good. To create connections between people who cross paths or come together over a coffee at my place, but also to create connections between producers, artisans and customers who discover a product that tells someone's story or showcases their talent! I have always enjoyed building bridges between people and the associated gastronomy.

Your products, a link with Occitan artisans
On the menu is an ode to local products, just the way we like it. A real showcase for Occitan artisans, we discover charcuterie from Bagard, cheeses (including L'Ecir de l'Aubrac and Lou Serre de Fons crottins, among others), and a fine selection of wines: Château Guiot de Saint-Gilles, Cartagène de La Cavette in Saint-Maurice-de-Cazevielle, Tardieu Ferrand, etc.), fruit juices from Pressoir du Gard in Argilliers (try the pure Williams pear juice), as well as jams (such as those from Terres d'Uzès), biscuits (try the Kikibellis from Biscuiterie de la Châtaigneraie in the village of Altier in the Cévennes), honey (if you haven't already, discover the varieties from Papa Ours farm, etc.), creations from La casa del café in Vaunage, chocolate from Eric Comte (read our article), chestnut cream...
And that's not all! Elisabeth also presents tapenades and other delicious spreads and is a talented baker of homemade cakes and biscuits. Tried and tested.
How do you select your suppliers?
The products found at Point Virgule are chosen with passion and conviction, because they tell a story. They are flavours that I know and consume personally.
What I like to share most is that most of my products are the result of encounters I've had over time that have left a lasting impression on me. Where flavour and the relationship with the producer or artisan come together as one.
I have a great gastronomic memory, lots of memories of flavours that made an impression on me when I was a child. No one in my family cooked or really had a taste for fine flavours, gastronomy or culinary pleasures. So when I discovered this explosion of sensations as a little girl, a whole incredible world of discovery, curiosity and gourmet delights opened up to me. What a pleasure it is today to recount the stories behind the products I offer.
On the snack side
On the snack side, Point Virgule is also a charming place to grab a bite to eat, sip a coffee, lemonade or fresh fruit juice, or enjoy a slice of creamy cheese, share a fougasse or a slice of homemade cake.
That's also what Point Virgule is all about: a place to meet and chat, either on the terrace on sunny days or just a stone's throw from the counter. Tempting!
Tastings, upcoming workshops... Elisabeth has many activities planned alongside the grocery store itself.
