FR - The association Les Guerrières de la Paix is a movement of women ‘of all sensibilities, cultures, beliefs and origins’ who campaign for peace, justice and equality around the world.
Among its statutes and almost as a motto is ‘the recognition of others both in their identity and in their otherness’, a prerequisite for establishing ‘genuine dialogue’ and spreading a message of hope.
A Franco-Moroccan film director and activist, Hanna Assouline founded and has chaired Les Guerrières de la Paix since 2022. In 2020, she also directed the documentary shown on France 24 A notre tour ! Quand des jeunes s’unissent contre le racisme (Our turn! When young people unite against racism)

Founded in 2022 by Hanna Assouline, the association fights against all forms of discord and dissension in French and foreign society. The association also seeks to defend all violated rights.
Cultural events, conferences, debates
Meetings, debates, conferences, marches, speeches, as was the case at the European Parliament in Brussels on 23 November 2023, etc., enable the general public to learn more about the association and understand its actions and even to participate or interact with its members.
For the message of hope must be conveyed dynamically to all those who are challenged and, above all, deeply affected by national and international events.
Dialogue and meetings are therefore more than necessary, they are essential.
Documentary Résister pour la Paix
On the initiative of the first World Forum of Women for Peace on 8 March 2023 in Essaouira, Morocco, the Les Guerrières de la paix have set the mission of promoting the role of women in the peace process in order to bring out these other voices and other futures, based on peace, justice and equality, as will the 2025 edition, on 19 and 20 September 2025.

Les Guerrières de la Paix - South
To organise all its events and activities, Les Guerrières de la Paix relies on a complementary and multidisciplinary team spread throughout France.
The southern branch of the association, created in March 2025, is led by Laura Sahin and is based in Marseille. The local group operating in the Uzège region was created shortly afterwards and consists of Christilla Boucher, Majo Hadifé, Mimi Liss and Sandrine Maricot Despretz.
Depending on the activity, event, theme, etc., the members of the Uzès branch divide up the tasks. This small group of volunteer activists is committed to promoting the philosophy of Les Guerrières de la Paix on a daily basis, presenting projects and events, relaying actions and testimonials, and creating dialogue.
They also appear on local radio stations, such as Radio Fuze in an episode of its September programme Zoom, Radio ICI, and in the pages of La Gazette de Nîmes, Objectif Gard, Le Républicain and Midi Libre.
Did you know? The French association Les Guerrières de la Paix has been nominated for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize.

Les Guerrières de la Paix: how to support the association
Les Guerrières de la Paix regularly welcomes volunteers both women and men to support its activities. In addition to membership, all forms of support are welcome.
Intergenerational and multicultural groups are formed and campaign for the association. This is also the strength of Les Guerrières.
Through writings, photos and meetings, all these good intentions help the association to shine in France and abroad, helping to change attitudes, move societies forward and also relay the actions of local associations, such as this bench bearing messages of peace in Marseille.
A mosaic bench, reflecting the spirit and values of the Guerrières, will be installed facing the Mediterranean on 13 November 2025. A Peace bench to embody a place of exchange, encounter and transmission (source).

This commitment aims to lead to a common and international uprising of consciousness in the face of armed, sectarian or racist struggles, a true plea for peace. A great message!
Many thanks to Laura Sahin, Christilla Boucher, Mimi Liss, Majo Hadifé and Sandrine Maricot Despretz for their collaboration on this article.
