Jewellery-making workshop at the Label LN gallery in Saint-Quentin-la-Poterie
FR - It's time for our very first jewellery-making workshop at the Label LN gallery.
Both an art gallery and a shop, Label LN is a jewel in itself. Run by Hélène for the past 5 years, the gallery is a lively microcosm of artistic activities and partnerships.
A brief introduction
After many years working in national museum shops (at the Louvre, the Picasso Museum, the Palais de la Découverte, etc.), Hélène felt the need to refocus on a more confidential art form, in the heart of the Gard region's ceramics and arts and crafts capital.
Now stylist of her own designs, Hélène draws inspiration from her ‘travels, walks and cultural visits, working with leather, fabric, lace or beads... while offering the flexibility and originality of made-to-measure pieces’. It's an art she's delighted to introduce and teach to amateurs in introductory and advanced workshops.
One gallery, two worlds
As far as the art gallery is concerned, Hélène's events touch is revealed in the exhibitions she hosts throughout the year. From painters to visual artists, ceramists to fashion designers, they all find this a lovely place to promote their creative touch.
And then, in the shop, a variety of colourful objects, ranging from decoration to fashion and jewellery, adorn chests of drawers, shelves, tables and pedestal tables. An abundance of styles to explore craftsmanship in all its forms (resin, leather, fabric...) and mainly local.
Creative workshop
Here is the perfect place for jewellery lovers! A treasure trove of supplies and ideas, the Label LN gallery is full of surprises.
Pearls, transparent and coloured, ceramic pieces in the shape of flowers or stars... (quite normal in the heart of the capital of ceramics), but also scraps of leather or fabric, feathers... an eclecticism that we love. There's plenty to choose from if you want to make a success of your creation or give a gift like no other!
So... will you be opting for timeless or trendy designs, simple creoles or will you go so far as to work on unique pendants?
We set to work, of course, under the supervision of Hélène, who showed a lot of patience for this lightning course. The pieces selected for the earrings are placed on the table, alongside the loops and wires for the structure and small pliers that complete what we need for the work.
The ultra-customised model takes shape. As we went along, the elements were threaded on, attached and, in no time at all... Let's be honest, after almost 3 hours of careful handling... here are the two finished earrings. Well done!
